Honda Msia – inexperienced customer service officer
Just yesterday, i wrote something about the lousy customer service I was getting from one of the Honda Malaysia’s service centre – Millennium Cycle & Carriage (situated across the LDP from IKEA and TESCO).
To recap, the customer service officer DID NOT ask me to pay RM 1.90 for the service, and DID told me that the free keychain was already inside my car. There was no keychain – because i was supposed to get it when I pay. Since he did not ask me to pay (and i didn’t know i have to pay…since Honda has free service for 3 years, no?), I did not go to the counter….thus no keychain. That was what happened 2 weeks ago.
Yesterday, the same customer service officer called me to ask me to pay the RM 1.90 back. FINE, it’s not like i cannot afford that. It’s the trouble they made me to go through due to their own mistake.
Never mind, i told him i would go today, around 8 or 9am.
And guess what, the same customer service officer called me at 7+ in the morning, just to verify that I am indeed going there to pay the RM 1.90 back. Their official working hour is around 8am onwards. Calling a customer before office hour is a very very bad practice. Who knows maybe I’m working as night shift? Maybe I only wake up 9am everyday? It’s just plain ridiculous again for me. This shows how inexperienced that guy is/was.
Furthermore, it’s a freaking RM 1.90 !! It’s not even RM 1900!
I still went back there because no matter how pissed i was, i didn’t want that poor guy to lose his job over RM 1.90. It’ll be a very very sad thing to lose a job due to an amount which (since the petrol price hike) is not even enough for a cup of MILO AIS.
p/s… ah well, the guy was just being hardworking n desperate… since he came in so early to the office. =_= and i’m also glad in a way……..glad because i will finally get rid of him. I will never ever go back to that service centre again, period.
Honda Malaysia Customer Service – does it even exist?
2 weeks ago, I went to Millennium Cycle & Carriage Honda Service Centre near Damansara Perdana to service my car. It was the nearest Honda Service Centre to me. That was the reason why I went there even though I’ve had bad experience with them before, and I’ve heard not-so-nice feedbacks from other friends.
Anyway, I went there…the service was not so good as expected. They did not do a lot of things which I’ve complained to them – reason being that it was Saturday and they have too many customers waiting…and they only worked half day on Saturday. Hmm, i thought all Honda Service Centres work full day on a Saturday?
Fine, they told me to go back there on a weekday for alignment and aircon servicing (which i need to pay RM200+) …and so they will fix the things for me.
When they finished doing whatever service they were doing – my car was kinda underpowered. Maybe it was the lousy engine oil which they gave me. And i didn’t know i can buy a better engine oil and 30% discount.
The important thing is…..when i came out from the service office….i looked inside my car for the Honda keychain which the guy claimed to have put it inside my car…… nothing there. And when i looked at the receipt, i saw a RM 1.90 charge….which they didn’t ask me to pay. Of course, Honda Service is FREE for 3 years for my car……so i didn’t go and insist “No, i have to pay you!”.
And 2 weeks later, today, they called me to say i owe them RM 1.90. I was very very furious. Because of RM 1.90 which was their own mistake for not collecting it from me….i would need to take my time, my office hour...to go back to the service centre to pay the stupid RM 1.90 !??!
What worse was…i tried to look for Honda Customer Service in Malaysia and I couldn’t find any proper channel to lodge my complaint. All I could find is this = http://www.honda.net.my/contact_us.cfm
So do they expect us, the customers, to actually MAIL to their mailing address (not email, mind you) and call their SALES & MARKETING office to complain? From my past experiences, SALES & MARKETING means strictly….SALES & MARKETING. It’s not the same with CUSTOMER SERVICE or HELPDESK. Where’s the email address I need? They should know that email is very very important in this new age.
To be honest, I’m very very pissed with the customer service of Honda especially for that RM 1.90 thing. It’s just plain stupidity for me. And this stupidity and lousy customer service might put me off from buying another Honda car in the future.
p/s…. if you happen to know of a place where i can channel this complaint to, do let me know. No matter how good I am with Google, i might still miss out on some info
Note: I’ve Google-ed a little regarding the thing which Honda charged me. It’s actually something useful called oil drain plug washers. Grateful to them…but it still didn’t remove the fact that i need to go all the way back…just to pay RM 2
