Thank you all for subscribing to my RSS Really appreciate it.

However, I must be honest with you all. The blogging schedule is beginning to drain my energy quite a bit especially when I need to travel about 45km to my office (per trip). So I’ve made a decision to cut down on my blog posts here – from 3 posts per week to 2 posts per week.

I just need more time to focus on other things but I will definitely post up more whenever I have time to spare and I’ll promise that this blog will never go away. No matter how busy I am, I will always continue writing on this blog because it is one of my ways to contribute to the society.

p/s…. who knows, there could be surprises or major changes coming to this blog in the future.

I’ve finally launched my webcomic. It’s called Cubic Nation – a webcomic on office life.

It’s currently in beta version and the design is quite messy. Not much customization as well…and well..not much identity. =_=

I’ll try my best to do as much as possible within these 7 days. I schedule to upgrade the webcomic into a “full version” (from beta) before the month of June.

p/s……. the first comic is a bit…deep, as claimed by some of my friends. And some also said it’s not very funny. Sorry if that’s the case. I find it quite funny though. LOL. *syok sendiri*

I’ve finally decided to stick to a fixed posting schedule. I’ll be posting on Monday, Wednesday and Friday each week. This is due to my slightly hectic schedule and also I plan to use some of the free time to do few things such as:

• Do my own personal projects
• Start a new blog which is related to technology
• Redesign this blog’s outlook
• Draw some comics
• Maybe come out with ebooks – content compiled from the comics and articles of this blog
• Provide more helpful articles here

Last but not least, I would like to thank you all once again for all the support throughout the years. It’s really been a long time since I first started blogging. Thanks!

Sorry if my decision disappoints any of you but real life issues have to come first especially during times like this. It’s been great writing articles on life, motivational, career and other related topics. I do hope my articles have helped you in one way or another.

Everything I’ve mentioned above is true except that I’m not closing down the blog just yet. I believe career and motivational related articles will come in handy in this year. It’s my way of contributing. So I don’t think I’m going to stop that. Maybe I won’t post as often, but closing it down..? Nay.. no way

To be honest, things have been pretty down and demotivating for me lately. Some of my friends are worried and they’ve been asking me if I’m okay since I’m exceptionally quiet these few days.

I’m fine actually. Just that there are many things going on in my head right now – thus the hair loss problem again. No worries, I’m still the positive-thinking person that everyone knows. Nothing is impossible and no problem is without a solution.

I do hope that everyone out there will be the same – stay cheerful and be positive. Remember that when the storm is over, we’ll get to see clear blue sky again.

p/s…… Sorry if this lame joke offended any of you. Just trying to brighten things up a little.

Very very tired. I only slept 3-4 hours a day for the past 4 to 5 days.

The result of requirements which never got signed off. Never ending changes. =_=

Anyway, I’ve some good n bad news for you all.

The good news first.

• I’m back! Okay, I’ve said that already.
• I’ll resume blogging from Monday onwards.
• The number of RSS subscribers of this blog have achieved 20 mark for the first time! Yeah yeah, I know it’s a small number but it’s quite a record for this blog. If you haven’t subscribe to this blog’s RSS, you can do so HERE.

and the bad news….

• I will not be blogging actively during the next 2 weeks as I’ll still be rushing my project. I was rushing the project during CNY as well. I’ll still try my best to blog as much as possible, but work comes first and the project does need my help (which is actually a good news since I’m not a liability).
• I lost quite most of my “ang pow” money to those “sports” during CNY. LOL. Well, not all of the money anyway…not the big ones. Lesson of the day – Alvin should not be greedy in this “cow” year. =_=

Besides the good and bad news about my life, there are some observations I’ve made during CNY period which I want to share with you all. See, this blog is not all about me.

• The economy is really bad, even in Malaysia. A lot of factories are closing down, and many more are retrenching workers.
  

  More people are getting married this year...even though it's recession period

• In fact, I do believe Malaysia will be very badly hit by recession and the signs will become obvious in May or June 2009.
• Crime rate is going up because those foreigners are the first to be retrenched. And when they’re desperate, where can they turn to?
• Dengue cases are on the rise in Malaysia. So kill all the mosquitoes you see and check if your house have any stagnant water. Do it weekly or 3 times a week, if possible.
• A lot of people are getting married this year! Be prepared for lots of red bombs.
• I expect to see a lot of sales and promotions as businesses try to improve consumer spending. So if you are looking to buy some stuff, try to be patient and choose only the best deals. Sales will not be something rare this year.
• Besides sales & promotions, I also expect to see more options for consumers since businesses will be competing with each others to get the bigger piece of the market – price war…technology war…etc.
• The food & beverages business is affected by the recession as well. More people are eating @ home, and they are switching to vege n chicken diet…less seafood. My father’s friend who sells fresh seafood complained to us the other day that business is really becoming from bad to worse.
• Cosmetics business is going to get more popular…since I noticed that more young girls in my hometown (which is quite a small place) are using make-ups nowadays, as compared to few years ago.

Hmm can’t think of anything now. I think I better sleep. Seriously lacking sleep. =_=

Last but not least, thanks for all those who visited and commented on this blog while I was away.

Thus, I will not be able to post actively in this blog. I’ve written 3 articles and are scheduled to publish while I’m not here.

However, my blog does not allow me to auto ping Petaling Street Public Pinger and also does not allow me automatically add to innit.nuffnang.com. Thus, my number of readers will be reduced I think.

The only 2 methods left for you to keep updated with this blog is by visiting the blog regularly, or the easier method is to subscribe to my blog’s RSS.

Alright then, I’m very tired now and tomorrow is going to be a long day. Going to travel back to my hometown.

If you answered “yes” to all the above questions, maybe it’s time to change your mindset a little because the first step in doing something might not be as hard as it seems. It is relatively easier than the steps which would follow the first one.

Why do I think so?

• It’s easy to force yourselves to make the first step especially if you can convince yourselves that you have nothing much to lose.
• After passing the first hurdle, your excitement will somehow “cool off”.
• And to reignite your excitement after the first hurdle can be very difficult, which means your 2nd, 3rd and n-th steps will be more difficult than your first step.
• That is the big problem because at the end of the day, without maintaining the momentum, it will be hard to achieve whatever you initially wanted to achieve.

That is why in order to be successful in something, taking the first step IS important but it will not be enough to make it successful. You will need to continue with the momentum, or better, increase it. But that requires one to have a very good discipline. If you do not have the will to keep doing it, then you might as well forget it. You will just give up after the first step.

So, think carefully what you want to achieve and plan ahead. And be sure to follow that plan of yours and not giving it up after the first hurdle unless you really feel it’s not meant for you. Also, don’t take the first step for the sake of taking it. Don’t waste your time.

Maybe that is why some people from the older generation often says “If you want to do it, then do it properly, don’t do it halfway!”

And do remember to spend the last few hours of 2008 to prepare for your 2009 resolutions. It’s still not too late to do that.
