Change should come from within
There are a lot of people who want their partner to change. Some…as soon as they are together. Funny isn’t it? If they want their partner to change as soon as they are together, then why are they together in the first place? Perhaps the reason of them being together is to change the other person…or to so-called customize him/her?
What about the family member who wants everyone in the family to change for him….but the issue is actually with himself? Or the old man who keeps telling his grandchildren not to smoke while he is smoking?
Yes, we’ve seen or heard a lot of such stories and yet….it’s never going to end. They will still happen. Not when everyone prefers to look outside than inside. Of course it’s easier to tell other people to change. You just order them around! That’s all! But how convincing can you be, if you yourself don’t change? If you tell people to change to A, but you are not willing to change to A, you can be assured that most people will not listen to you.
That is why change should always come from within. Initiate the change that you want to make from within yourself. Be the best example.
And if you happened to realize you can’t really change, then you only have 2 options left – to give up completely or to accept things for what they are. I think accepting things for what they are can be difficult but it’s definitely a skill worth learning.

“There are a lot of people who want their partner to change. Some…as soon as they are together.”
Of course, the moment you get your new cellphone home, the first thing you do is customize it to death, lol.
Whether its a cellphone or a partner, we customize what we have to feel complete, even though we ourselves cannot be what we customize, like what calendar reminders to absent minded people.

mmm i don actually customize the stuff i just bought…well, not that much anyway.
well, i guess it’s always easier to customize what is outside of us….other people, cell phone, PC, colleagues, etc. we always think that it is easier to change anyone/anything…..as long as we don need to change.
what a big mistake.

Nice post again. You’re right that change should always come from within. i believe that if we truly understand clearly things that is right/correct/worthy/beneficial, we can really change ourselves for a better way of life.

@stella
that’s something we all need to work towards to.
I think the biggest challenge here is to truly understand things. It’s easier said than done but well, life is all bout that right?

Theoretically speaking, change is from within. Practically, change is from both side. Agree?
Hahaha… That what makes us human but we should always understand that change from within is the ultimate goal where we want to go.

The issue with most people is that they think if they want to change, the other party should change first. If everyone thinks that way, then there will never be a change.
