Have you ever think of starting something?
It’s 11.30 PM by the time I started writing this post. Another day has gone by so quickly. Another day gone and never be able to return. There will never be another NOW for me in the future. Kinda sad huh? But that’s how life is, it waits for nobody.
That’s why when I look at the selfish time which just passes by without pausing for a moment (I cannot say clock is clock can run out of battery), I start to wonder. Am I going to continue my life this way? Follow this “river of life”? Follow this current?
Or is there something which I ought to start, something which I ought to do?
As a matter of fact, I realized that everyday, the things we do are not created by ourselves. Most of them are being created by other people and we merely follow or respond to them. We attend a meeting which other people organized, eat the food other people cooked, talk about the topics other people started (politics for example), and even replies to email which other people threw sent to us.
Then I stop and wonder. Is that it? Just follow the trend and culture set by others and never to start something of my own? Something for other people to follow, something which will have a positive impact on the life of others?
This does not mean I need to start my own business. I can propose a new idea to my bosses, I can start a personal project and share it with others, I can write this idea for everyone to discuss (actually this post is inspired by another blog post I’ve read somewhere), and I can draw a comic for everyone to enjoy.
Small little things which might not have mattered to others, but they do matter to few people. I think that’s good enough.
So start something new now. Plan that activity with your family. Bring them out. Or plan that dinner with your colleagues. Anything. Start to play a more active role in your life. Sometimes it does feel good to lead others, and not just being led all the time.
Stop being a robot.

Taking initiatives is commendable and hopefully we’ll end up better off because of the risks we take.
