I said A is right, because that’s what I know
People have been arguing what is right and what is wrong for as long as human beings are on Earth…which is pretty long to be honest.
Even to this date, people are still arguing which is right or wrong. For example, one might say that this politician is wrong, or that marketer is not doing it the right way, or this movie sux or that song rocks. It never ends but one thing for sure, everyone has their own opinions on things. Or do they really have their “own” opinions on things?
Imagine this. You go to a meeting with a business proposal. You presented it to everyone and said that this is the direction your company should move towards to. And surprisingly, all your shareholders or directors agreed! Well done mate! You can now continue to walk (or run) down the path of self-destruction. Why? Because when people agree with you, it doesn’t mean you are right as in “RIGHT”. You might be wrong but due to the limited knowledge of those people around you, they would think you are right. Bring someone from another background in, and you might have a different result altogether.
That’s why the right or wrong argument really depends on the context or the knowledge a person has. If all this while, I only know that the chicken comes before the egg…then i will certainly stand by that case when someone comes arguing with me whether the chicken comes first or the egg comes first. Because at the end of the day, that’s the only thing i know and have stood by for all these years!
And that is also why, in order for us to avoid making a fool out of ourselves by declaring that Earth is flat……we should try to educate ourselves more. Read more, Google more, watch more documentaries and news……and hopefully that we’ll be able to associate that one thing with many different contexts. AND AND AND, hopefully we can say which is right and which is not.

well, i think there is no right or wrong in everything, like there is no definite white and black in life sometimes.most area are gray. but knowledge sure does helps
@ carrotrun
so that we can make the appropriate decision
Yeap. That’s why reading is a good habit
Well, that’s why sometimes religions comes into play to define what is right and what is wrong because it is the ultimate source. Not sure if you get what I meant.

Mmm, religions are always right but the ppl practicing them might sometimes misinterpret their meaning and behave….strangely.
Its said there are 3 sides to every story: your side, my side, and the truth. Same thing with opinions. And some people agree with us not because they have the same level of knowledge as we do but because they stand to lose a benefit by disagreeing. Notice how ppl nod during a project kick-off and later grumble at the back.

And some would say YES in order to stay low profile. Follow the crowd~~
And some people would just say YES in order to get out of troublesome situation.
To decide if a belief is ‘right’ or ‘wrong’, you need more than just knowledge. You need to look at the consequences of acting on that belief. Knowledge is important but not always sufficient to determine ‘right’ or ‘wrong’.
Religious beliefs are the worst kind. Faith based beliefs have no justification. No knowledge to support them. Just strong beliefs based on a world view not supported by any evidence.
Ideas proposed as ‘facts’ must be held up to the light of reason. The should never be accepted at face value.
@ Mitchel
Knowledge might not be the deciding factor but it does help one to think more effectively especially when differentiating right from wrong.
Religion beliefs are always the most difficult kind and also the most sensitive. At the end of the day, I believe that most religions are teaching people to do good. It’s just the people who are changing the right things, and end up with the wrong things.
Facts? One secondary sch teacher of mine used to tell me this – what is fact? do you think the things you see on the TV are 100% true? if yes, then think again.
