Some useful Firefox add-ons
In case you’re wondering what exactly is Firefox, it is the world’s most popular internet browser. No, the world’s most popular browser IS NOT Internet Explorer, much to the dismay of Microsoft
.
The recently released Firefox 3 has been quite unstable for a while. My Firefox 3 browser has crashed several times before this and most probably it was due to the plugins. If you ever encountered something like that, it’s either you remove all the plugins, or you reinstall the Firefox 3.
If everything goes fine for you, then rest assure that you’ll find yourselves falling in love with Firefox 3. You can customize the browser with the themes which you like, and also installing add-ons to do amazing things with the browser.
Here are some of the useful Firefox add-ons. Hope you’ll like it.
With this plugin, you can download videos (in *.flv format) from the likes of YouTube, Crunchyroll, etc.
There’s another similar add-on to this named Fast Video Download. I’ve yet to try this so I couldn’t recommend it.
This add-on helps you to download anything with the option of pausing and resuming. You can also increase the download speed by assigning more “bandwidth” for a particular download.
This is definitely more useful than the typical “Save as” which we know from the Internet Explorer era.
Just to spice up your browser’s life and your life a little by giving colours to your browser’s tab.
This plugin helps me a lot when designing web pages and it is certainly helpful for web developers who want to edit, monitor or debug any Javascript, CSS and HTML “live” on any web pages.
I must say this is one of the coolest add-ons I’ve ever seen. It’s meant for photo viewing. You will be amazed by it but just ensure you have a good internet connection.
Actually, the add-on in Firefox will just call to another external FLASH application which will retrieve the information of the photos from the web. It’s not like people can do something like THAT inside the current web browser. We’re not that high-tech yet.
If you’re a hardcore (or half-core) internet user, you should know about StumbleUpon. It’s sort of like a review site for you to recommend blog posts or online articles to other people – strangers and friends. With this plugin, you can easily choose which articles/posts that you like by a (or few simple) mouse click(s).
There are other add-ons which can be quite useful, such as advertisement blockers and web security stuff. But I don’t really use those. That’s why I didn’t include them here.
If you have any other good add-ons to recommend, feel free to post them here.
Last but not least, if you’re feeling helpful and nice, do help me to Stumble this post with your new StumbeUpon Firefox add-on.

Hi Luna,
No problem. I actually demo-ed the add-on to my colleagues as well and all of them are impressed by it.
Great add-on I must say.
