Honda Malaysia Customer Service – does it even exist?

with 85 comments

2 weeks ago, I went to Millennium Cycle & Carriage Honda Service Centre near Damansara Perdana to service my car. It was the nearest Honda Service Centre to me. That was the reason why I went there even though I’ve had bad experience with them before, and I’ve heard not-so-nice feedbacks from other friends.

Anyway, I went there…the service was not so good as expected. They did not do a lot of things which I’ve complained to them – reason being that it was Saturday and they have too many customers waiting…and they only worked half day on Saturday. Hmm, i thought all Honda Service Centres work full day on a Saturday?

Fine, they told me to go back there on a weekday for alignment and aircon servicing (which i need to pay RM200+) …and so they will fix the things for me.

When they finished doing whatever service they were doing – my car was kinda underpowered. Maybe it was the lousy engine oil which they gave me. And i didn’t know i can buy a better engine oil and 30% discount. :|

The important thing is…..when i came out from the service office….i looked inside my car for the Honda keychain which the guy claimed to have put it inside my car…… nothing there. And when i looked at the receipt, i saw a RM 1.90 charge….which they didn’t ask me to pay. Of course, Honda Service is FREE for 3 years for my car……so i didn’t go and insist “No, i have to pay you!”.

And 2 weeks later, today, they called me to say i owe them RM 1.90. I was very very furious. Because of RM 1.90 which was their own mistake for not collecting it from me….i would need to take my time, my office hour...to go back to the service centre to pay the stupid RM 1.90 !??!

What worse was…i tried to look for Honda Customer Service in Malaysia and I couldn’t find any proper channel to lodge my complaint. All I could find is this = http://www.honda.net.my/contact_us.cfm

So do they expect us, the customers, to actually MAIL to their mailing address (not email, mind you) and call their SALES & MARKETING office to complain? From my past experiences, SALES & MARKETING means strictly….SALES & MARKETING. It’s not the same with CUSTOMER SERVICE or HELPDESK. Where’s the email address I need? They should know that email is very very important in this new age.

To be honest, I’m very very pissed with the customer service of Honda especially for that RM 1.90 thing. It’s just plain stupidity for me. And this stupidity and lousy customer service might put me off from buying another Honda car in the future.

p/s…. if you happen to know of a place where i can channel this complaint to, do let me know. No matter how good I am with Google, i might still miss out on some info

Note: I’ve Google-ed a little regarding the thing which Honda charged me. It’s actually something useful called oil drain plug washers. Grateful to them…but it still didn’t remove the fact that i need to go all the way back…just to pay RM 2

hmm, i went to the one at Jalan 222 before. quite good. they were very busy that day – Saturday – but they took the effort to explain to me and even helped to wash my car for free.

  6. I sent my new Civic (less than 1 month old) to Chan Sow Lin service centre for my 1st service and found discovered that there were substantial scratches on the paintwork running from the front bumper all the way till the end of the driver door.

I manage to complain the following address:
    Honda Malaysia Sdn Bhd
    Lot 15, Jalan 13/6
    46200 Petaling Jaya
    Selangor Darul Ehsan
    Fax No.: 03-79574300
But trust me, they can’t help us cause they will push back everything to the dealer. The complaint is still unsolve…

Sorry to hear about your case. Anyway, I think they (the Honda HQ) might reduce the ‘bonuses’ for that particular dealer, but in the end, that address u complained to, they’re SALES & MARKETING (i think). Honda does not have any proper customer service here in Malaysia.

And as for dealer….sorry la, most dealer don’t really care. What a stupid attitude. Try to go to those honda dealers which other people recommended. For PJ, the one near Jalan 222 is quite good. in KL, i heard the one near lowyat area is OK, also the one @ Jalan Pudu (but this, i’m not very sure myself, just heard from a friend).

So far, i’ve been very pleased with my Honda car. but all this lousy service might really put me off from buying another Honda car.

p/s…. by the way, my friend’s CIVIC got a broken bonet after sending the car to one of the service centres. =_= and they didn’t want to admit. =_=

  8. The attitude of Honda service centres mechanics are super annoying.

They’ll top up your engine oil sometimes 1-2 liters above the max level, they add water to your coolant (eventhough the manual strictly says no to this) and evwn if you complain about rattling sound here and there they’ll tell you it’s because of your coins, keys etc.

The built is worrisome. My City is less than 8 months but I see rusts everywhere, paints are easily chippped and I get the famous rattling sound from my dashboard.

The Japanese work their way to perfection but those ‘tak kisah’ stupid mechanics and assembly workers destroy the brand.

I love my Honda because the Japanese have really thought well of it’s innovation and technology. However, when it comes to servicing my car, I always feel like strangling those bloody morons in the service centers and those who assemble the car in Melaka plant.

I’ve never talked to the Honda mechanics in KL. I bought my car in Kluang, Johor and the mechanics there are very friendly and helpful. I didn’t really check what they did with my car though =_=

My city is > 1 year now, so far there’s no paint problems or the rust problems….but i’m having the famous rattling sound. I told them to take off everything n fix it once and for all when i service my aircond.

After the service, it SEEMS to be ok. hahaha. And my car is performing MUCH MUCH better than when i sent my car to the KL service center.

It’s funny how the QC has been pretty bad for both Honda and Toyota in Malaysia….even though the MDs for both companies are Japanese.

Honda, just recently, has been voted the most reliable car in the world. =_= how i hope they can really look properly into the QC in service centres because if they don’t, people like you and me will just go for other cars in the future no matter how good HONDA is

    Alvin Lim

    30 Aug 08 at 9:45 am

  12. Hi Alvin,

We share the same problem laa! I don’t understand how come Honda can get on top of the JD Edward customer satisfaction survey?

I got unsolved issue to my car for about 2 years already..

everytime i complained – when i sent my car for regular service, they only wrote in the report – KIV – not enough time to do.

I even complain and call the 1800 line.., ahaa., much better! very good lip service! it’s been over 4 months now i’m waiting – the customer service assistant never keep her promise. Promise to call me before lunch? .. next only call.. or the other week.. All broken promise.. all empty talk.., how comelaa their customer service like this?

They think we pay with water for our car? or they are like 2nd hand user car dealer? sell and forget?

Alvin, come let us highlight this issue to newspaper. I had enough of their promises! i had enough of having to bear the multiple problem that i had with my new car! only 50k mileage.. so many problem.

Is it because now it is managed by DRB-Hicom? where last time when Honda is under Kah Motor- we seldon hear this kind of customer service nightmare.. ! most of the Honda owner are proud of their customer service that time.. (under Kah motor)

Whoa, relax. Hahha. You’re not the only one I think. So far my car is still OK (touch wood) except for the irritating dashboard clicking sound which will never get fixed (period).

The 1800 is crap. I told the salesman which is also my father’s friend. He couldn’t believe it. I told him to try and pretend to be a customer, and see whether he gets the same response. I mean, 1800 is more like a SALES line than a CUSTOMER SERVICE line.

There are still few good Honda Service Centers around. Kudos to those rare breed.

Newspaper? I’m not sure whether we can do that. If we can, I’m not sure whether it is workable or not.

And yes, I think the change of management matters. Before this, Honda service has been one of the best.

*sighs* I think I might not go for another Honda car in the future even though Honda cars are in fact better than Toyota and Nissan. But their service sux to the max.

Mmmm what kind of brake problem is that? I only know sometimes my brake feels like..the car is … going over some rocky surface? It does feel a bit like ABS (experienced it when my friend used his Vios’ ABS). But my own car’s ABS, i don’t think it feels like that. Hahhaa. Gosh, I’m blur. =_= I’m an idiot when it comes to car.

Maybe I should register myself there.

  18. Dear Alvin,
Today i googled for Honda Service Centre and found your blog.
How disheartening to read all this comments.I got my dream car Honda Crv in Dec 2008.My mother’s friend son noticed something missing from behind the steering,a cover. When i went back to the centre where i bought the car ,they told me to come back as they had to order it.So when i went there for the 1000km service, they replaced it and charge me RM 20.00. I refused to pay as i bought a brand new car and it was not my fault that it was missing. Then they made the sales rep pay for it.It was really disgusting! Anyway,i am not going there for my 5k km service.

Rozimah, sorry to hear about your story. I must say that some of the service centers are pretty unreasonable. It’s quite disheartening to know that such a car company has such irresponsible service centers.

But I must say one thing. The company which I bought the car from – IPTIMAS motor in Kluang, Johor – they have very very good service. Much better than the rest of the service centers I’ve went to. I must give credits to them for providing such good service. They actually called me up to remind me of my final free service, and told me that I MUST do it in any service centers nearby because it’s very expensive. Even when I was in their service center, all of them were very polite.

Compared to the one near my PJ house…..it’s very different.

  20. Hi Alvin,
I was also trying to search for a channel where I can lodge a complaint of the bad service and attitude of Honda mechanics in Jalan Cheras, KL, Wegro Honda Sdn Bhd. but didn”t manage to find it.

I had been doing my 2 years free service for my City in this Jalan Cheras service center and last Dec 2008 was my last free service with Honda. This company have a very good service too. As what you have said, they did reminded me to come for my final free service when I went for my second last service as it will cost me a lot if do it after the period of my free service or at other service centers. High credits for them too! All this while I was very happy and satisfy with the people and their good service but not after today’s bad incident that I had experienced.

It was a sunny day this afternoon after servicing my car. So as usual, I was taking out my sunglasses from my car tray and only then I discovered the sunglasses inside was missing. I was still wearing my sunglasses while I drove to the service center and put it in the tray when I reached there. So with no doubt I turned back to the service center (luckily I was still somewhere nearby) and looked for the person who attended to me for my car servicing. Even the service manager also came and searched twice in my car and found nothing. He looks sorry for such incident to happen to me but also blamed me indirectly that customers are advised to bring along all their valuable belongings with them.

Hey…I have my CDs, books and a jacket in my car too. Those things may not be that valuable. Some people may even have more things keeping inside their cars. Are we really suppose to take every single thing out of the car whereby it is usually not convenient and not necessary for customers to do so when we send our car for servicing??? Does it mean that you people (the mechanics) can steal my belongings if I don’t take them with me??? What kind of rule is that?? Ridiculous!!! Who will expect that such a normal item like sunglasses to be stolen while servicing their car, not at any other service centers but HONDA service center??? If it is something like laptop, handphone or smart tag, of course we will take it along with us as we know those are the valuable items.

My sunglasses is not a very expensive one and I think most of the people also will just keep it in the car without having a thought that they will steal it. The service manager asked me to give him 1 day to investigate and will come back to me the next day with an explanation. I refused to wait for the next day at first as I wish to settle it by today. But somehow I think it may be wise to give him sometime to investigate so I returned home.

About an hour after I reached home I received a call from Honda saying that my sunglasses has been found and I can come over to collect it back tomorrow as the service manager is keeping my sunglasses and he is not around now. Proved that someone there has stolen it!!!

I yet to collect it back. Will be collecting it tomorrow.

  21. @ Alicia
Glad to know that you’ve at least met a responsible manager. There are few complaints by other Honda owners that some of the managers are just plain irresponsible. Maybe the manager you met is angry because he has encountered such an incident before and maybe he did not know whether your sunglasses is the expensive one or not (Prada sunglasses can be as expensive as a netbook).

Just be careful next time. And consider yourself lucky coz some owners get their car body dented AFTER the service. And they get nothing. :)

    11 Jun 09 at 8:05 am

  22. I got to know from the manager that stern action has been taken whereby the person who stole my sunglasses has been sacked within 24 hours. Apparently it was a Malay guy who works at the car wash section stolen my sunglasses. Well, at least the manager has done his part of responsibility. Yup, I will certainly be more cautious next time.

Hopefully that will be a warning to the rest of the employees. Sometimes people don’t tend to think far. They willing to risk their stable job for sunglasses. =_= Ah well, at least the manager did his job well. :)

  24. Hi Alvin – i am a new comer in honda’s car. I just bought Honda Stream 2 weeks ago and now around 1500 km. One thing Stream remote control not have pannic alarm ( compare my Toyota before ). Also you can open your car – used key after lock using remote control – without alarm sound. The sound only activate after you try start the car !!!!!. – I call 1800 – he said it’s impossible and advised me to sent my car to service centre. I went to Taman Tun service centre. The staff ( at counter who take order – not technician ) said ‘ memang macam tu honda nak cut kos – kalau nak ok kena buat luar lebih kurang 2,000.00′ then he explain the Cobra alarm function only after certain second we lock the car ???? – Now after 2 week my dashboard have sound – smooth road ok – it’s normal or not.

The dashboard issue apparently is very famous for the older City cars (not the 2009 version). But I’m not aware of the same issue with Stream. I think you can request for help from the mechanics. I went back to the one in my hometown (Iptimas, very very good service center) and it took them 3-4 times of service to fix. But i’m just pleased that it’s gone now.

  26. honda civic FD – my 1st honda car.
    problem –
    1. disc brake never failed to give the irritating sound.
    2. power steering pump leak.
    3. power steering rack leak.
    4. immobilizer not stable.
    5. wheel bearing got sound.

    Problem solving – NONE
i’ve sent my car to USJ honda service centre for 3 times,
they changed the power steering pump for me. ok problem solve, after 2 months, they tell me my power steering rack leaking and ask me to pay RM5000 for that piece of stick.

about the wheel bearing, they changed the front left and back right side for me, tell me everything is ok. but now i start to hear another 1 making noise.

i got this car 2nd hand and the time i sent in to service centre i ask them to check everything because my car only left 2 months warranty, they said they did, but end up all this prob came out after 4 months driving.

I’M TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED WITH HONDA PRODUCT.
to honda malaysia or japan or where ever, u can check or get my details via your so called useful database, which doesn’t contain the records where my car was service previously

Sorry to know about the issues you’re facing. I know that it’s very frustrating because when we fork out this amount of money (for me, Honda City is considered quite pricey already) to get a car of our dream – in this case, Honda, the power of dreams, we do expect to be trouble free. But funny thing is, even though it’s HONDA, we are still troubled with some problems that Proton owners are suffering from. So where’s this value of money thingy coming from?

And to make things worse, the customer service is not helping us. Fortunately for me, the shop which I bought the car from is very helpful. Otherwise, it’ll be even more headaches for me.

Anyway, there’s nothing much I can do in this blog because I’m also a Honda owner, and not a Honda representative. Let’s just hope they are doing something bout it or people will just start switching to Toyota or Nissan (which has been pretty aggressive in our country).

    Best of luck.

  29. I would like to share my disappointment with their delay and empty promises in car delivery. I made a booking in April for the facelifted Civic 2.0 at Kosmo Cars Glenmarie, after a promise that the car would be delivered within 1 month. I sold my old Honda car knowing that I will be getting the new car soon. It’s now July and nothing happens despite multiple promises they’ve made. This time around they promised to deliver it latest by 13-July. I’ve made up my mind that I will cancel the booking and get back my downpayment should this not happen next week. Enough of these empty talks HONDA!!!!

Sorry to hear that Azhar. I think this is the issue with the reseller and not Honda itself. Perhaps you can give the official Honda sales office a call? Because promises should be fulfilled. But then again, you are on the losing side since you don’t have any black n white to support the promise.

  31. I totally agree that their service sucks. The salesman who attended to me, ‘appears’ to be ever-so-helpful. Unfortunately, on the 2 occasions that I bought the car from him, I needed the car urgently. Hence, the service I received was that of ‘you want to buy the car, more than I want to sell it to you’. Whenever he wanted documents for processing the sale of the car, he never once offered to pick it up from my house. It was always ‘when can you drop it off at the showroom’? When he delivered the new car to me, I had to even send him back to the showroom, and there was less than 1 bar of petrol filled in the new car. I mean c’mon – as it is he didn’t offer any discounts or free gifts (even a token). The ONLY gift he gave, was the FREE umbrellas Honda gave out for test drive customers. I will NEVER buy from that outlet.

  33. I have a Honda City about a month old and I noticed a problem at the RHS Runchannel (rubber). So I ask for warranty claim during the 1st service at Klang, Selangor. But the machanic there try to “remould” the rubber to its original shape. I told him it is rubber not metal. If you can do it back to it original shape, later it will back to the same problem. The machanic told me it is their policy and insist to do it. Luckily he can’t do it and only agree to do the warranty claim. Later, he told me there is not stock at this moment and will contact me later. He then told me it must be fix within 3 month and must be on working day (not saturday). After arguing, he allow me to do it but only for this time. He told me it is the policy of Honda. I am so sad this is the service of Honda. This is my first Honda car. Before this I am very confident with the brand now I have to reconsider if wanted to buy another car by judging on the quality control and after sales services. I don’t know Honda aware of it? Actually Honda is very bad for after service. Did you go back to the place you bought your car? Hmm, in Klang valley, I think the better service centers are the one at Jalan 222 and the one near Sin Chew in PJ SS2 area. My favourite is still my hometown’s Iptimas. They never fail to call me up after 1 week of service, just to check if everything is fine. Very very good service for me. But it’s actually in Kluang, Johor…so kinda far.
For Honda Malaysia, there’s no email unfortunately. You can try to call their sales number but I don’t think they can help much.

  35. I just been informed by the 1800882020 that Honda Malaysia itself not even have a service centre in Malaysia. So it is up to the service centre to decide how they wanted to service your car. It that true?

The 1800882020, really can’t not do anything or offer any help to the car owner. It is really sad.

I was very frustrated with the service in Klang valley too. But the Johor service center manages to calm me down with their good service. It’s rare to find such good Honda service center. But i will seriously think carefully the next time I want to change car. Honda car is very good in terms of driving experience but the after sales service sux big time.

And worse, Honda Malaysia don care at all !

I think in other countries, it might not be so bad. I really like the thing they are doing for those education sponsor and technology research thingy. But in terms of quality of service (after sales), it’s a totally different level. Maybe the Honda employees here don’t really plan to stay long? So who cares about dissatisfied customers? :D

  48. Dear Alvin..
I’m appreciate what you all had wrote.
    I’m one of the victim.
and i agreed what you had post.
After 3 years they won’t take any care for your car anymore.
My car has a problem with automatically door lock and i requested them to check for me. But finally they gave me such of answer.
( Oh, that lock ar.. Very expensive wan..)
    then that’s all.
Act don’t know and pass the car back to me.
    They are not responsibly.
My air-cond faced in the same problem.
I asked them to check but every time they just give me a same feedback. (service your air-cond). After serviced is still in the same problem. I don’t know what i should do for that now.

  50. I went for the second (3 months / 5000 km) service after car delivery.

    1. I did the oil change even though I have only clocked about 900 km. They did not change the filter and their reply was they “usually” put in a new filter around 3000 km. My limited rule of thumb is change filter with every oil change. Any thoughts on this !
Should the filter be a free part item as its only my second service call ?

    2. Was not too impressed with the competency level of the ‘shop floor’ guys. ie. those messing with your car.

After reading articles on the net, I guess I am not alone with regards to H reputation. Same goes with, their nearest rival; T . I was amazed that CustService is bad even with both companies and varies by centres as per Alvin’s remarks. No one wants to be the receiving end of a faulty product.

    1. not sure about this. sorry to say i’m an idiot when it comes to car.

    2. mmm but u cant really have a say in those. as long as they don mess up ur car, i think should be fine.

just like every franchise stores, the qualities could differ from each other. so as customers, we’ll have no choice but to go to those good ones. the bad thing about H is that there’s no way you can provide feedback to H itself.

  52. Dear Alvin,

In a way, I felt relief knowing that I’m but one of the thousands who got disheartened by Honda’s appalling product/customer service. I drive the new CRV, and for the last few months, the driver-side door has been rattling (yes, it’s only 18 months old). I have been patiently sending it back to Sumber Auto in PJ for 4 times. After 4 attempts, the rattling noise is still there!

I’ve written to Honda Malaysia twice. The first time was on the 14th October. I wrote them again on the 20th, and this time addressed to the CEO himself. I called on the same day, attempting to speak to the CEO, but naturally they would not pass an angry customer’s call to him.

Finally, someone called on the 21st, informing me that they have received my complain.

Now, I don’t know what’s going to happen.
All I can do is to tell everyone out there who are thinking of buying a Honda to think twice.

I have long been a loyal supporter of Honda.
But, after this painful incident, I told myself that my next car will be anything but a Honda.

Long live the power of dreams!

mmm actually i feel they are looking into the complaints nowadays. they have a hotline set up now, but i cant remember the number. also, having someone to call you is a good start. my friend has been complaining for a year and nobody entertained him and he gave up.

  61. i think i just got ripped off by honda service center (by kah motor)… Honda city i-dsi 2004. Went in for major service 160k and cost now bubbled to RM1100.

Anyone can recommend any outside workshop (not honda) that can do a better job? I always go back to honda SC cos i want a peace of mind even though they charge much higher… Now i don’t have that peace of mind anymore… Lets give our money to someone else!!!

I don’t think all of them are specialist. I’ve seen very big difference in terms of the quality of the service in few different service centers. That’s why now, even though I’m in KL, i prefer to try my best and go back to my hometown in Johor to service my car.

    @jesse
Not sure about outside workshop. The thing with Honda cars is that they’re not so easy to maintain by external mechanics, unlike Toyota.

  69. Just bought my Jazz (cerrulean blue)in Oct 2008 from Ban Hoe Seng (Ipoh). Exactly 1 year after,my aunty accidently hit a lamp pole – resulting in a very deep dent/scrach on the driver’s side door :( .

1st repair work: OBVIOUS DIFFERENCE IN PAINT COLOUR
Aren’t they supposed to use same colour code? My car is just 1 year old! I even have to leave the car for the repair for 4 days..The cost? dont ask!

2nd repair work: 5 months after
When i complained to them about the colour, they just take my complaint and ask the repair man (some worksyop behind the service center) to repaint. when i asked how can this happen, the service personnel said : I don’t know lah, ask him (repair man). He’s the PROFESSIONAL- She did’nt even say SORRY!

3rd repair work:1 week after (this morning)
I noticed some UNEVEN COLOUR TONE on the door. I went back to the service centre and complained again on the quality of the repair works. They just said: Ohh.. it’s becoz the paint did’nt dry. If u polish can hilang wann..My reply : U ASK ME TO POLISH??!! WHY DONT U DO YOUR JOB RIGHT THE FIRST TIME?! Then they just took my car to do the polishing job & returned my key WITHOUT SAYING anything!

  71. Hi Alvin,

Good thou people willing to share their car problems but the most importantly is any further action by Honda Dealer’s to submit a Technical or Field Report of the symptom?!!
If none pedantic fast action to HMSB will cause uncertainty a problem will be solve.
So, the front liner Service Advisers should take their duty seriously to combat a problem and find a solution for their customer.

    TQ/Dandenong.

  72. Hi Alvin,

Please share if a car have rattling, squeaking, clicking or clonking sound therefor a customer should give more time to a authorized Honda Dealer to combat it. Best is to call up for an appointment and send in at start early hours & request a Chief foreman to test drive with customer about the sound on theory what is the speed, where is the sound came from, what condition of the road, when occur possible wet or hot weather & who drive the car.
Sometimes it does not mean the person who complain is the driver! Isn’t it.

Mmm, not sure if you should complain your stuff here because I doubt any Honda representatives are going to visit this blog. :)

I think someone posted a contact number or email which you can use to complain to Honda. Might be a better option? So far, I’ve been quite okay with Honda for the past 1 year or so. The car is good. The technology is good. And the service center I go to (in Kluang, Johor) is good. I’ve stopped going to those service centers which give lousy services.

  76. 13days ago,i sent my 2 months old honda accord vti-l to Millennium Cycle & Carriage Honda Service Centre near TTDI to service my car. It was the nearest Honda Service Centre to me. That was the reason why I went there even though I’ve had bad experience with them before.
Anyway, I went there…the service was not so good as expected. They did not solve my rear right knocking sound – reason being that it was not enough time for the day(friday-07/05/10) and the next day is saturday (no claim job to be done on that day) So i got to send my car again on monday-10/05/10.
On wednesday-12/05/10.at about 4.45pm,i went over there to check my status of my car,to my surprise, the service advisor told me,it is sent to other place for further body noise check.Without informing me,they sent my car to other place.I am very unhappy with their explanation so i track down my car using my GPS alarm which i fitted few weeks ago.
To my surprise again, someone is driving my car roaming from jalan duta-kepong-jinjang-taman beringin after the service centre working hour(5.30pm).I tracked my car till about 8.00pm.Using my GPS system,i found my car park in a private house at jinjang utara.I got so mad,i took photos of my car.
The next day, i went to the service centre for further clarification. They told me the workshop is so full so they have to drove my car back to 1 of their staff house for safe keep.Because they have done so many irregularities work,i check my whole car for any wrong doing.
To my very surprise again, they did a unauthorise/illegal welding on my car which they claimed it is a normal practice for them to solve knocking noise from body. They say some honda’s car welding are not done properly at the plant and they have to strengthen the welding by adding extra welding to the car. After the damage they have done, the knocking noise are not solve yet.
I complain to Honda malaysia sdn bhd on the next day. After 9 days my car at the centre,Honda malaysia gave me a verbal answer that it is common and last solution to weld my car if it is with a body knocking noise.
The technical person from honda malaysia told me it is not a defect car but just a small problem with knocking noise and needed extra welding.
For the mistake the service centre had done earlier, honda malaysia asked myself to deal with the service centre on my own.
To be honest, I’m very very pissed with the customer service of Honda especially for the explanation they made on my car. This stupidity and lousy customer service might put me off from buying another Honda car in the future.
2 MONTH OLD CAR,150K,MANUFACTURER DEFECT,NO REFUND,NO BUY BACK,NEVER ADMIT THEIR WRONG DOING,ABUSE OF CLIENT CAR …..STILL WAITING ANSWER FROM THEM,,,,,,,,,please dont call yourself a technical personel if you are not ….

Please send your car to Authorised Honda Dealer’s to check the water leaks that you found the passenger floor wet with water. Request them to do a water test spray on the front & bottom side.
Is your vehicle is within the warranty period? What is the running mileage?
Don’t guest, just do it & verified the sooner the better.

Your I-DSI Power steering is operate by Electronic Power Steering and not with a pump. Is not staberlizer related. The higher speed,
the EPS will control the steering for you. If you have a problem then send in to your nearest Honda Service Centre to check up & rectify.

  82. Hi,

I did a search like everyone else for an email to complain to Honda about Wegro Service Center in Cheras and came across your blog.

I had the worst Honda service experience ever! Wegro Honda took over 2 years trying to resolve the problem that VSA, Exclamation Mark & ABS light displayed at the same time. They did a major change last month and the light came back on today.

Not only that, somehow they destroyed my back passenger leather seat… God knows how they did it, but its ruined… I am furious! I went for Civic 2.0 because I thought it would be brilliant compare to the local cars I had before.

Never going to honda, EVER AGAIN !

Definately gonna complain the hell out of HONDA!

  84. Wow I should hv found this blog before i bought my Nov 2008 Honda Accord 2.0 Vti.It could hv saved me the frustrations that I’m having with the car’s disc brake system or undercarriage.

I agree whole heartedly to most of the complains posted and the frustration in trying to escalate it to Honda Mgmt beyond the SC. The customer service line available at their webpage is of no help. When I insisted in speaking to a person-in-charge of their service dept, the customer rep had the nerve to tell me as a customer, she cannot entertain my request! That’s the reason I’ve been searching the net for way and means to voice my opinion and the problem to Honda Mgmt. I am prepared to write a detail letter to them on the fruitless repeated visits to the SC wasting my valuable time and effort and the loss of use of my car. So any suggestions or tips to this is most welcome.

Back to the problem with my car. This is a genuine problem and not a fictatious case of Honda bashing. At a slow speed from a standstill position or stop and go traffice, there’s a feeling the looseness in the brakes especially when the brakes are pumped. Upon release of the brakes and gentle press of the accelerator,a rough and grinding noise like ‘klug’ ‘klug’ is audible where in forward and reverse position. The noise seems to go away when the car speeed is faster. This noise seems to get worse until it can be heard by the back passengers after prolong period of driving. The ‘klug’ ‘klug’ noise becomes a grinding noise of metal even during cornering when the brake paddle is pressed. I strongly believe it has got to do with the brake system. From the last repair, it only lasted about 2 weeks before the problem re-surfaced. I’ve another appointmnt at the same SC on 23/8/10 whereby a foreman from KL will be present. BTW, my service centre is Tian Sang SC in Ipoh.

Any Accord owner with the same problem only can contact me at 017-5798968 or mata4@streamyx.com. Will update on my problem once available. Consolation is the SC is still willing to look into my problem. But what makes me angry is paying nearly RM140K for a good solid car for the first few years of its life, I’m driving a clunker making horrible and irritating noises. I’ve driven many cars and they don’t give such problems with the brakes anyway.

    Cheong

    19 Aug 10 at 11:06 pm

  85. I agreed with Alvin that there are some still around the corner! Some by words of customers or unnoticed & unappreciated at all.

    @Jag
VSA & ABS lighted on is possible due to brake sensor or modulator unit. Do check it out at a proper center.
    Enjoy and happy motoring!!
