sometimes i do wonder…….are people getting too paranoid or is it a good thing to be that careful? i just noticed that public places in london……there’s no rubbish bin. then i remember…it’s not good to have rubbish bins because people can just put anything inside.

If you let your kids outside without an adult's company your neighbor can call the police and you can get into trouble. mm, i don think being wary is a bit thing. true, some people are becoming TOO worried about things and end up becoming like a paranoid. but there are a lot of people who are not wary…and they ended up becoming the victims.

Collapse of community certainly leads to more crime, but even worse than this is a pervasive media which provides us with information of these crimes. Hence, whilst crime may well BE higher, our appreciation of it is higher still. And because we feel it is endemic, when we go out we are more wary, which makes us smell more of a victim in the making, making it more likely that a crime will be committed.
